Email groups are used for a variety of purposes at HOPE and sometimes you may find yourself receiving too much email from a group you still want to be a part of. This page will show you some tips and techniques to quieten or completely silence a noisy email group.
By default, you receive an email every time someone posts to a group you are subscribed to. This can result in a high number of emails for busy groups. You can reduce the frequency of email notifications from your My Groups page:
Navigate to My Groups - https://groups.google.com/my-groups
Under the Subscription column, adjust the setting for the noisy group to something more manageable. Details of what each of the subscription options means is available on Google's Help Site
If you only want to send to a group you manage without receiving emails, change your subscription setting to No email
Another technique to quieten group emails is to use email filters. Combining filters, labels, skip inbox, and "Show if unread" for a particular label is a simple but powerful way to reduce notification fatigue.
